Makaha crash suspect’s blood alcohol level was double legal limit

Potasi Uta, Jr. has been indicted by an Oahu Grand Jury on negligent homicide charges.

According to court records Uta’s blood alcohol level was double the legal limit at .16 when he crashed into a Makaha bus stop last week.

A family was at the bus stop at the time. Three-year-old Ashton Brown was killed while his mother and siblings were injured.

Uta is being held on $100,000 bail.
