Hawaii man identified in creating GSA video spoof

Already under fire for extravagant spending on a training seminar to Las Vegas, the federal government’s General Services Administration is now facing backlash over a video at least partially shot in Hawaii.

The video flaunts the ability of GSA to lavishly spend taxpayer money without oversight.

One part was shot on Kapahulu Groin in Waikiki. Another at a local car dealership.

The producer of the video is identified by the Washington Post and other news outlets as a GSA employee from Hawaii was then given an award at the 2010 seminar for the video.

The inspector general says more than $820,000 was spent on the seminar.

Some of the expenses included $3,200 for a mind reader and $75,000 on a training exercise to build a bicycle.

The head of the GSA resigned on Monday.

The agency released a statement Thursday condemning the video.

No word if any disciplinary action will be taken on anyone involved in its production.
