Big Island Fire Department search and rescue crews have located a body believed that of a missing 17-year-old Puna boy, who was apparently swept out to sea Friday afternoon.
The found the body around 7 a.m. Saturday morning at Haena Bay when they resumed their search for the missing boy.
Fire officials say the body was recovered near the mouth of the bay.
The case has been passed to the Hawaii Police Department.

A 17-year-old boy was swept out to sea from the bay at Shipman Estate’s Beach at about 1:30 p.m. Friday.
He was swimming with two friends.
A helicopter and dive crews were searching all afternoon, but suspended their efforts in the evening due to darkness.
