Mayoral candidate Kirk Caldwell endorsed by two more unions

Kirk Caldwell received the endorsements of two more unions in his bid for Honolulu mayor.

The Hawaii Laborers union and Operating Engineers union announced their support of Caldwell outside the Sand Island Wastewater treatment plant.

Caldwell says needed improvements at the plant would be at the top of his list if elected mayor.

"My first priority will be to sit down with every one and find a way to resolve this problem we cannot let it languish another year," says Kirk Caldwell, candidate for Honolulu Mayor.

Plans to build a second digester at the plant were put on hold, after $26 million dollars in funding was removed from the city’s budget.

Caldwell says the project would have created jobs for Hawaii’s union workers.
