KHON2 News wins prestigious award

KHON2 News has won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Regional Award by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA).

The award for the “Best Use of Video” category went to anchor/reporter Olena Heu and photographer Taires Hiranaka for their piece “Marines Homecoming” last November.

“I am very proud of Olena and Tai for winning this award for KHON2. They are two of our many rising stars and I’m glad this distinguished organization recognized their good work,” said KHON2 News Director Lori Silva.

The award-winning story will now be entered into the national Murrow Awards, which will be announced later this year.
