The man in charge of Honolulu’s rail transit project took his message to the streets Friday.
HART Executive Director Daniel Grabauskas met with students from Waipahu High School to answer questions.
And he also visited some businesses on the rail route, reassuring them of the benefits, despite some construction worries.
"They worked out a pretty good work schedule, where they’re working when we’re not open, so hopefully it doesn’t bother us too much. We wouldn’t want lane closures in front of our market or anything," said Justin Tanioka, Tanioka’s general manager.
"So if there is an issue I want to make sure that his business keeps thriving after 34 years, and that this is going to be a plus for him," said HART Executive Director Daniel Grabauskas.
Grabauskas says he will visit other communities as well to talk about their concerns.
