When I was 9 years old, with other children I stood on a hill in Marin City in California to watch, with my own eyes, President Harry S. Truman ride from Hamilton Field, San Rafael, up Highway 101 and over the Golden Gate Bridge to sign the charter for the United Nations in San Francisco. A few years later, I stood in line in Sausalito to enter the Freedom Train, to see with my own eyes, the Declaration of Independence.
