Letter: Goals in Iran obvious and inescapable

It’s excruciating to watch the feigned confusion regarding the rationale and objectives of military operations against Iran. Since 1979, Iran has been run by extreme religious fundamentalists who regularly organize “Death to America/Israel” rallies, brutalize their own people and sponsor terrorism. This was never acceptable, but the prospect of this regime acquiring even one operable nuclear weapon elevates the risk to intolerable.
