Letter: Study energy options on merit, not just politics

Hawaiian Electric did not include liquefied natural gas (LNG) in its recent Integrated Grid Plan (IGP) process. HECO’s movement toward LNG in 2012 was reactive to Gov. Neil Abercrombie’s directive, not a HECO self-initiated proposal. The same reactive move occurred in 2025.
