Column: Evidence supports bail reform, not fear

Right now Hawaii has the opportunity to improve its public safety, joining many other states in enacting bail reform by passing House Bill 2413. Opponents of bail reform in Hawaii continue to lean heavily on fear, anecdote and a fundamental misreading of what this bill actually does.
