Off the news: Bureaucrat temporarily acts as governor

The unusual, simultaneous absences of Gov. Josh Green, acting Lt. Gov. Keith Regan and Attorney General Anne Lopez put Seth Colby in charge of the state over the weekend. Islanders may have wondered, “Governor who?” — since Colby was only recently confirmed as director of the Department of Budget and Finance, which put him in line to be temporarily at the helm.
