Honolulu police traffic investigators are at the scene of a crash in windward Oahu.
Police say around 7:30 p.m. Saturday night, the 27-year-old male driver was speeding down Kamehameha Highway toward Kaneohe when he lost control of the vehicle near Johnson Road and crashed into a tree.
The driver and his 22-year-old female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say speed was a factor in the crash. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors.
Kamehameha Highway is closed in both directions in that area while police investigate.
