Hawaii’s top public school leaders were honored during an awards banquet Sunday.
Randiann Porras-Tang, the principal of Waialua High and Intermediate School, was named "Hawaii High School Principal of the Year."
Porras-Tang has been at Waialua since 2007.
Frank Fernandes, principal of Kaimuki Middle School, was named "Hawaii Middle School Principal of the Year."
He’s been leading Kaimuki Middle School for 26 years.
