Some Hawaii athletes spent their weekend kicking up efforts to help Japan.
Egan and Enson Inoue, BJ Penn, Sunny Garcia and Dennis Oshiro were among the local celebrities at "Ganbatte Japan."
The all day fundraiser included fitness classes, and live entertainment.
"The people in Japan right now there’s a need for necessities they need it right now they cannot wait five months to a year. They can’t wait for the Red Cross, so what Enson has been doing is he’s been going all the way from Tokyo to Sendai delivering basic necessities people need," Egan Inoue said.
Also Sunday night, Hawaii’s top chefs and entertainers teamed up for another fundraiser, "Lei Day for Japan."
That was held at the Aloha Tower Marketplace.
