The owner of Pflueger Auto pled guilty Friday to tax fraud in a plea agreement in federal court.
Alan Pflueger was charged in 2010 with filing false tax returns.
On Friday, Pflueger changed his plea to "guilty," admitting filing a false tax return in ’05 when he did not disclose company-paid expenses as personal income.
Under the plea deal, several other counts against him were dismissed.
In a statement Pflueger said: "I’m disappointed in myself that this occurred and I want to use this negative experience to make me a better person so I can continue to contribute in positive ways to my family, my community, and my employees."
The prosecution says Pflueger owes between $400,000 and $1 million in taxes. The defense says its more like $200,000.
Besides restitution, Pflueger could receive up to three years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
