Every Memorial Day thousands of people pack Ala Moana Beach Park to watch the Lantern Floating Hawaii Festival.
It takes a lot of hard work by volunteers to prep the lanterns.
3,500 candle-lit lanterns will be set afloat from Magic Island in remembrance of loved ones who’ve passed away.
Individual lanterns will be available on a first come first served basis starting at 1 p.m. on Memorial Day.
The ceremony and program will follow at 6 p.m.
