Research is underway at UH on a treatment for debilitating migraines that does not involve medication.
UH researchers have created a device that places ice packs on the front of a patients neck.
Researchers say current medications can take up to an hour to work. The ice packs can work nearly instantaneously. It is hoped the neck wrap will stop nearly 80-percent of migraine headaches.
At least 50 participants will be studied during clinical trials, which will start soon.
