Lawsuit filed against Waikele fireworks disposal company

One lawsuit has been filed, and more are expected in the wake of last April’s deadly fireworks explosion.

A Honolulu attorney filed a lawsuit Thursday on behalf of the family of Justin Kelii. He says attorneys for the four other families are expected to file similar lawsuits.

The lawsuit claims various companies involved in the disposal of the fireworks were negligent and reckless.
Five employees of Donaldson Enterprises died in the bunker blast in April 2011.
Fire investigators could not find the origin.
Donaldson was fined for various safety violations.
