Three Hawaii beaches among the best in the U.S.

The annual list of the best beaches in the U.S. has three Hawaii locations.

But "Dr. Beach" says the best beach is Coronado Beach in California, across the bay from San Diego.

The ranking is based on environmental quality and safety for swimmers.

Coming in at number two was Duke Kahanamoku Beach around the lagoon at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki.

The other Hawaii listings…Hamoa beach in Maui…and Waimanalo Bay Beach Park at number 7.
