Volunteers took to the streets on Wednesday to sell newspapers for a good cause.
What was known before as Kids’ Day is now called Keiki Day. Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle, along with entertainer Danny Kaleikini were in Bishop Square selling the special edition of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
Proceeds go to PACT, Parents and Children Together, which helps island families in need.
Our own Manolo Morales and Trini Kaopuiki say sales were harder on Wednesday because of the rain, but the mayor didn’t seem to have a problem.
"I promised to take care of 18 potholes, pick up the garbage in 14 places, so I’m gonna have a busy day once I’m through selling these things," Carlisle said.
More than a thousand volunteers sold newspapers for the cause.
