Another brushfire ignites in Waianae

Just a day after getting a 1,200 acre brushfire contained, there’s another fire burning in Waianae.

It started this afternoon off Piliuka Place.

Fire officials say about 50 firefighters are on the scene trying to contain the flames and protect structures in the area.

There are no evacuations at this time.

The American Red Cross is in the process of opening a shelter at Waianae District Park in Waianae for residents evacuated from their homes due to brush fires.

The park is located at 85-601 Farrington Highway.
