Thousands of hungry and thirsty people visited L-and-L Hawaiian Barbeque for a good cause Thursday morning.
The return of the restaurant’s 76 cent plate lunch offer benefits Goodwill Industries of Hawaii.
For the fifth straight year one man claimed his spot as the very first person in line but he isn’t all that interested in the food.
"I figured that if I waited too long I would miss out on the free Pepsi that they give to the first ten people," said Rod Nakamatsu. "I drink a lot of Pepsi."
Nakamatsu waited in line starting at 11 p.m. Wednesday night.
The first 10 customers receive a month’s supply of free Pepsi products.
There were 1,500 plates were sold.
