A 31-year-old man is dead and a 28-year-old woman is fighting for her life after being struck by a car in Wahiawa late Saturday night.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. near the H2 Freeway on-ramp to Wilikina Drive.
Police say the man and woman, both of Wahiawa, were walking on the grassy median of the road. According to police, the two were arguing and ran into the road.
That’s when, police say, they were struck by a gray Nissan.
The man was taken to Wahiawa General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The woman was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.
The driver of the Nissan, a 34-year-old man from Honolulu, was not injured.
Police say speed, alcohol, and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
