The fire burning in the Waianae Kai Forest Reserve is now about 90 percent contained, according to the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
The fire is believed to be the same fire on a different front that federal and honolulu firefighters battled since Monday.
The fire has burned about 400 acres in the forest reserve.fficials say state fire crews have made good progress this weekend.
They’re working to keep the fire from reaching the top of the ridge where there are endangered plants and native tree snails.
