Fire sparks near Kapolei Costco, no structures threatened

A fire that sparked near Costco in Kapolei burned about two acres of brush and a utility pole.

Fire crews were called to the scene around 1:28 p.m. Sunday and quickly extinguished the fire.

Officials say no structures were threatened, but a Hawaiian Electric pole was damaged by the blaze.

HECO crews are looking at the damage. Officials do not know if there are any customers affected. Fire crews are sticking around for another hour to make sure the fire does not rekindle.
