The woman accused of stealing more than 22 thousand dollars from an elderly man is scheduled to be in court on Monday.
34 year old, Katy Sterio, is charged with theft. She has been at HPD’s main cellblock since her arrest Friday afternoon.
The victim, 73 year old Stanley Ho, told us he recently met Sterio while he was shopping in Chinatown.
He says Sterio told him she has cancer and needed the money to pay her medical bills and would repay him.
When Ho asked for his money back, he says Sterio denied ever getting money from him.
Sterio’s bail is set at 150 thousand dollars.
