Forecasters say the unstable atmosphere is expected to stick around through the weekend.

Forecasters say it’s the same type of storm that brought lightning and thunderstorms earlier this week.
The National Weather Service says an upper level disturbance that is triggering the heavy downpours and the sporadic thunderstorms.
This is the same type of storm that brought us the lightning show Monday night and we could see a hana hou.
This disturbance is forecast to strengthen this weekend so we have a slight chance of thunderstorms straight through Tuesday.
Currently there are thunderstorm cells near the islands, however these are downwind.
What we are really focusing on are the showers that are upstream coming in with the trade winds.
Showers will still be heaviest windward for all islands and over the Kona coast.
Some will blow over to leeward areas and some will be heavy at times.
Nobody saying its hot right now, just cold and wet and windy with trades in the 15-20 mph range.
That’s the forecast consistent all the way through.
