Unsettled weather with locally heavy rains and the threat for thunderstorms will continue over the islands through Tuesday.
This is due to an upper level system lingering near the state.
Throughout the day, the heaviest rainfall has been over Kauai and Oahu, causing a number of flash flood warnings to be issued. However if the upper trough shifts to the east a bit, we could see heavier rain moving towards Maui county.
On the Big Island, enough daytime heating combined with the unstable air to produce a thunderstorm near Waikii. Also on the Big Island, the winter weather advisory through tonight.
Heading into the second half of the week, forecasters predict the return to trade winds as well as much drier weather.
