Fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause of a fire that burned through part of a home on Pearl City Peninsula early Sunday morning.
According to Navy officials, the fire happened at around 3:30 a.m.
Initial reports indicate the fire began in the carport and spread to the first floor of the housing unit, before firefighters could put the blaze out about an hour after it started. Three adjoining units also received smoke and water damage.
Officials say a four families, a total of 11 people, were affected by the fire. The Red Cross, Forest City Military Communities and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam are assisting those families.
