Having entered the weekend 14 games under .500 and 15 games back of the Nationals in the National League East, Maui native Shane Victorino and his Phillies are in desperate need of a mid-summer run to prevent General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr, from going into selling mode as the July 31st trading deadline approaches. Over the last two days, Victorino and the ‘Phils have done their part by taking two straight from the Rockies. Sunday, Philadelphia won 5-1 as the Saint Anthony graduate went 1-3 with his 4th triple of the season, taking his batting average to .245. Victorino’s name has been appearing in a number of trade rumor articles, linking him to numerous contenders like the Pirates, Indians, Reds, Dodgers, and Yankees. 2-time All-Star will be a free-agent at the end of the season.
