TRAFFIC ALERT: Road resurfacing work on Kamehameha Highway in Sunset

Work to resurface Kamehameha Highway as part of the Board of Water Supply’s ongoing water system improvement project near Sunset Beach will begin on Monday, March 28.

The work will involve roving single-lane closures on Kamehameha Highway between Pupukea Road and Kahae Road from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work is expected to take approximately one week to complete.

A contraflow will be in place and special duty police officers will be on hand to direct traffic flow.

Sign boards will also be in place to notify motorists of the lane closure.

Drivers are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra travel time.

This paving work is the final phase of the BWS’s ongoing water system improvement project that replaced an aging 8-inch water main on Kamehameha Highway between Pupukea Road and Kahae Road.
