John Kapualani Koko, one of our legends of Hawaiian Music, was a member of the Makaha Sons with brother Jerome Koko and Moon Kauakahi; and the Makaha Sons of Niʻihau. John left us on June 25, 2012 from health challenges at the age of 51.
John started playing music at the age of 12 with "Na Leo O Nanakuli" which became "Third Road Delight". In 1982, John joined the Makaha Sons of Niʻihau. He continued playing until his passing; John LOVED his hawaiian music.
Not only loved for the music he loved so much, but also for his infectious smile and upbeat personality that turned strangers into fans from around the world.
John is survived by his wife Toni, sons John Jr., Jordon, Jeman and Jerry and two grandchildren.
