Calf butchered on the Big Island

Police on the island of Hawaii are searching for a suspect who butchered a calf.

It was butchered sometime between Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14 in Honoka’a.

Police say someone entered a livestock enclosure in the Kapulena area and butchered a calf valued at more than $400.

The property is leased to farmers and ranchers by the county.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hawaii Island police.
