After winning the democratic nomination for the congressional district two seat, Tulsi Gabbard says she will decide within a week whether she will resign from her seat in the Honolulu city council.
Gabbard represents district six which includes Makiki, Downtown Honolulu and Kalihi.
She says will meet with the county clerk to discuss her options. "The two options would be to resign early or to stay to the end of my term and I want to make sure the choice that I make is one that is best for taxpayers and make sure that my constituents continue to be served," said Gabbard. If she resigns, a special election to fill her seat could be held in conjunction with the general election on November 6th.
Gabbard will face republican Kawika Crowley for the congressional seat in the general.
