Michelle Wie finishes in season’s best 8th place at Safeway Classic

Playing in her 14th event of 2012, Punahou graduate and 4th year LPGA tour member Michelle Wie signed-off on her first top-30 finish of the season today.

22 year old Stanford graduate, trying to breakout of the worst year of her career, followed up a pair of under-par rounds at the Safeway Classic in North Plains, Oregon by posting a final round 69. An eagle on 10 jump started a bogey-free minus-4 back nine, capped off by deep birdies on 14 and 18 to wrap-up at 8-under for the week, good for 8th place.

That marks as her first top-10 finish in 15 starts sating back to November of last year.
