Maui fire crews put out brushfire

Maui fire crews mopped up hot spots where a brush fire broke out around 8 p.m. Sunday in Wailuku on the steep embankment across St. Anthony School.
 
The fire came within 40 feet from some homes on Lunalilo.
It was brought under control around 8:45 p.m.
The fire burned about 2,000 square feet of brush.
 
There was no damage to any structures.
