A class action lawsuit over state mental health services is being settled at a cost of nearly $1.2 million.
The Hawaii Disability Rights Center sued the state claiming policy changes made in 2009 resulted in Hawaii residents being denied eligibility for state mental health services.
The settlement requires that the state reassess about 250 people using eligibility requirements from 2004.
Patients who were part of the class action suit will be notified by mail.
