A whale carcass has washed ashore in the Pahoa area on the Big Island.
According to NOAA, the animal is about 40 to 50 feet long.
They say there were no visible signs of a ship strike or entanglement.
A large chunk was missing from the whale’s stomach area, but there were no sharks spotted.
0fficials are not yet sure what type of whale it was.
A crew from NOAA is on its way to the site.
