Condo security guard arrested for stealing from residents

UPDATE:  Lane Phongphila turned himself in to police on Thursday.

The 21-year-old’s bail is set at $25,000.

A security guard of a condominium building in Waikiki is accused of stealing money from residents when they’re not home.

According to court documents, Lane Phongphila was indicted on charges of theft, burglary, forgery, and ID theft.

During September and October of last year, Phongphila allegedly went into two condos stealing residents identities, and forging checks in several amounts ranging from $300 to $5,000.

A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.
