A police sergeant is HPD’s Officer of the Year.
Sgt. Lawrence Santos was honored Wednesday morning at an awards ceremony.
He supervises the "Weed and Seed" policing team for central Oahu.
He has also organized dozens of sign-waving campaigns, citizen patrols and graffiti clean-ups.
Sgt. Santos has been with the Honolulu Police Department for the past 28 years.
