Retired Honolulu Police Major Carlton Nishimura was also back in federal court on Wednesday asking a judge to allow him to remove his electronic monitoring device for medical reasons.
Nishimura is out on bail awaiting trial on charges that he gave inside information to the operator of an illegal gambling room.
Nishimura said the judge granted his request.
