HPD officer pleads guilty to giving false statements

A former Honolulu police officer appeared in federal court Wednesday afternoon admitting that he lied to government agents.

Richard Raquino pled guilty to three charges of giving false statements to investigators in a case that involved the identities of undercover agents being exposed.

Raquino had been with HPD for 19 years.

He faces up to five years in prison when he is sentenced in January.
