The 7th ranked University of Hawaii Women’s Volleyball team (8-2, 1-0 Big West) survived a scare Wednesday night, making its return to the Big West with a 5-set conference opening victory at Cal State-Northridge (9-4, 0-1 Big West). After going back and forth following a set one loss, UH took the fifth and decisive frame 19-17, on an errant kill attempt by the Matadors setter, extending Hawaii’s conference opening win streak to 18 matches, which included the past 16 years in the Western Athletic Conference.
Jane Croson led the way with 18 kills, 11 digs and Setter Mita Uiato posted 45 assists.
UH now moves to 13-0 all time against Northridge.
