Pacific Aviation Museum named affiliate of Smithsonian

The Pacific Aviation Museum has been named an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution.

An official with the Smithsonian is among those attending a private reception Thursday night at the museum.

The affiliation recognizes the Pacific Aviation Museum’s excellence in the field of historic preservation and education.

We are on their list to receive travelling exhibits, artifacts that would never get to the islands any other way," said Scotty Scott, Pacific Aviation Museum.

"We’re very, very honored that the Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor has become one of our newest affiliates." said Alma Douglas, Smithsonian Affiliations Program Manager.

Of the 600 aviation museums in the United States, only four have received affiliation with the Smithsonian.
