The state’s very first Mcdonald’s was demolished in Aina Haina Friday.
A new Mcdonald’s, built just a a few car lengths away, opened in April.
Maurice "Sully" Sullivan opened that first Mcdonald’s.
At the time, all Mcdonald’s restaurants on the mainland had the iconic golden arches on top of the building, but that wasn’t allowed in Hawaii.
So, Sully gave it an island touch.
