Behind the scenes at Cirque du Soleil’s Quidam

A hundred people from around the world are in Honolulu for the next week and a half.

The cast and crew from Cirque du Soleil are in the midst of dress rehearsals right now.

‘s really amazing to see what these gymnasts, athletes and circus artists accomplish every night on stage here." said Georgia Stephenson, Artistic Assistant.

Quidam was created 15 years ago and features a cast from 18 different countries. In addition to the 52 world-class featured acrobats the show is alive with music and unique performers with remarkable skills.

"Well I certainly cant do that but I can put my spin on the chinese yo-yo/diabolo," said Olena Heu. "Roll pick up and start go faster you need to move wait eh."

For my teacher Zhou Lu she has been practicing this since she was 8 years-old.

"Because it is nice I like to play when you want some new things you do you try its really nice," said Zhou Lu, Performer.
How could something so small be so challenging?

"Then go up. Yes I did it very good." noted Heu.

It’s time to try some acrobatics.

Two Ukrainian performers are going to show me how to do a basket lift.

Cirque officials say this is a great family friendly show based on a young girl who tries to escape reality and finds herself in an imaginary world. It truly will take entertainment to new heights!

Quidam opens Thursday night at the Blaisdell Arena.
