Elections plans discussed for the future

Hawaii county and state elections officials are pledging to work together to make the general election a success.

County clerk Jamae Kawauchi and state election officials wrapped up a meeting to discuss their roles in the upcoming election.

On Tuesday, the state said they would be taking over control of the Big Island election saying they had not received an action plan from Kawauchi on how problems encountered in the primary would be avoided.

We’ll hear from Kawauchi for the first time since that decision, tonight on our 10 p.m. news.
