Castle Medical Center has adopted an "innovations" computer program that should help.
It’s a software platform – probably the best way I could describe it," said Travis Clegg, Castle Medical Center."It’s like a Facebook but instead of a place where you exchange pictures and stories and things like that, it’s a place for associates to actually exchange ideas."
How does it work for the employees?
And there are incentives for the employees to get involved in the program.
The fact is, Castle is connected with other facilities in a huge network – so suggestions can come from 20 thousand different employees.
"The company that we’re working with has partnered with numerous Fortune 500 companies but never a hospital before," said Travis Clegg. "So this is a pretty cool opportunity for Castle Medical Center and for having itself as a system to do something that is new."
"It’s a work in progress," Clegg shared. "But some of the things we’re looking at are giving people points by just participating. So if you go in, even if your idea is not the final idea that gets selected, just by participating, you’re going to earn points."
"They can go on line. Basically, they log in, they can see a challenge, we’ll put a question out there that says help us solve this particular problem that the hospital is facing," noted Clegg. "And they can go in and basically answer the question."
