A 61-year-old woman is dead after she was struck by a vehicle in Waikele Friday morning.
According to officials, the incident happened at about 7 a.m. on Lumiaina Street near the Waikele Shopping Center.
An Emergency Medical Services spokesperson says the victim was transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition where she later died.
The road was closed while police investigated the incident. It has since reopened.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
