A high surf advisory for east facing shores of all islands except Ni’ihau and Lana’i is in effect until 6am Sunday morning, when the 6-8 ft. faces will lower to about 5-7 foot faces. A near warning-level northwest swell is expected to arrive Wednesday and peak Wednesday night, while small south shore swells are expected through the week.
Tradewinds will slowly weaken to about 15 miles per hour by Wednesday. We should keep the tradewinds through next weekend with bands of trade showers moving through from time to time.
